I am an Assistant Professor (RTD-A) in Statistics at the Department of Business and Economics, University of Cagliari. My work sits at the intersection of statistical learning and natural language processing, with a particular interest in interpretable models for opinion mining and in algorithms for preference and ranking data.
In November 2025 I obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor in Statistics (13/D1). I hold a Ph.D. cum Laude in Business and Economics (Quantitative — Statistics) from Cagliari, with a thesis on General Sentiment Decomposition. Before academia I trained as a computer scientist, which still shapes how I think about data and methods.
Recent and upcoming visits have taken me to Tokyo Metropolitan University (2025), Universitetet i Oslo (2025), Constructor University Bremen (2023), Jacobs University Bremen (2020), and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (2019). In June 2026 I will be Visiting Professor at the Universidad de Valladolid for PREFSTAT 2026.
