Thesis supervision
I supervise Master's theses in the programs Data Science, Business Analytics e Innovazione, Economia Manageriale, Economia, Finanza e Politiche Pubbliche, and Innovazione Sociale e Comunicazione. Since 2022 I have supervised or co-examined more than twenty Master's theses on topics including NLP applied to news framing, customer satisfaction analysis, biomedical entity matching, multiclass text classification with green-computing constraints, and topic modeling on tourism data. A complete list is available in my CV.
Currently supervising (selection): F. Tiddia (iTBNB: a modern Naïve Bayes classifier in Python), G. Ibba (Weakly-supervised lens segmentation for cataract detection — Best Paper Award, IEEE BIP 2025), P. Marongiu (Time-tracking analysis framework).
Prospective students. If you are interested in writing a thesis on text analysis, preference learning, or interpretable classification methods, feel free to email me a brief outline of your interests together with a transcript of your exams.
